Antique Elements

Hey, loves!
This week I have to continue my story-telling about the most fascinating statement jewelry discovered by me over the years. It's new and old, classic and modern, bold and full of character--I love it all.
I thought the jewelry topic is way too vast and worth writing about for one more week.
Tonight, I'm sharing yet another amazing story of a fascinating jewelry designer of the 21st century,
Alexis Bittar.

First, let me clarify that it's a man, in spite of the fact that the name sounds somewhat feminine. Originally from Brooklyn, New York this designer started out creating original pieces from antique jewelry given for birthday by his parents. He became a street vendor in Lower Manhattan until one day in 1992 his career propelled to stardom when Bergdorf Goodman execs discovered his unique adornment pieces.
This year's Elements Collection was fused from Baroque style and overlayed with Native American influences, which I thought was dramatic yet provocative, where luxurious Bohemian spirit truly shines.
Some pieces also featured O'Keffee inspirations.

Isn't this collection just adorable?
It was love at first sight for me, and I would rush to the store and buy it all.
At least I can admire these pieces on my screen for now, and I hope you enjoyed my collage interpretation.
Which is your favorite?

  9. This is what I call a statement jewelry!!! This is probably one of the prettiest designs I've seen so far! It amazes me how they were styled with such opposite time and culture influences like Baroque and Native American...
    Good luck!
